Accommodation

The Carlton Crest is the Congress venue and offers competitive accommodation rates tailored to suit individual needs. Rooms have also been reserved at special congress rates at the following hotels.

Delegates who wish to book accommodation at the hotel venue should complete the appropriate section of the Registration Form. Accommodation bookings can be accepted by the Congress Office up to Friday 18 June 2004. Delegates will need to make their own accommodation arrangements after this date. Rates listed are per room per night and include GST.

Accommodation Deposit
Please send a deposit of one night’s tariff per room to secure a room booking. This deposit must accompany the registration form. Accommodation bookings can only be accepted if accompanied by a deposit. Delegates must settle the balance of their account on checkout.

Change of Booking
Any change to a reservation must be notified in writing to the Congress Office, and not directly to the Hotel.

Hotel Cancellations and Refunds
Unless notification of cancellation is received in writing thirty days prior to booking commencement date, the accommodation deposit will be forfeited in all instances. This is a condition set by all hotels on congress group bookings.

Check In Time
The standard check in time at hotels is 2.00pm onwards. If a room is required prior to this time, the Congress Office should be advised. Hotels may otherwise charge an additional day’s fee.

Check Out Time
The standard check out time at hotels is 10.00am.

Travel Information

Air Travel within Australia
Corporate Travel Management (CTM) has been appointed the official travel agency for the Congress.

CTM offers special flexible/changeable congress airfares at up to 40% discount in economy class on Qantas services or the best Internet or published airfares available on Qantas and Virgin Blue Airlines. Early booking is advised. To ensure the BEST possible airfare available, ALL delegates are urged to contact CTM on TOLLFREE: 1800 630 866 or Email: groups@travelctm.com and quote the Congress Code OMEP2004 when making their travel booking. An on-line booking form is also available from www.travelctm.com/omep2004.htm

International Delegates
International delegates should contact their local Travel office for the best available fare of the day.

If arriving on Wednesday 21 July at the Melbourne Airport please look out for our Congress welcoming hosts who will be situated at the Groups & Tours desk located at the International Arrivals Terminal (after you have collected your luggage). The Congress welcoming hosts will be able to assist you with directions and queries.

Local Travel
Getting to the Congress venue from Melbourne Airport
By Taxi: A taxi from Melbourne Airport to the Congress venue will cost between AUD $35 - $50.

By Bus: The Skybus provides an economical way to and from Melbourne Airport and Spencer Street Station. Skybus operates half-hourly services to and from the city between the hours of 5.30am and 11.30pm, then every hour on the hour. The current cost is AUD$13 per adult (one-way).  The telephone number of Skybus is +61 3 9335 2811.

Public Transport by Melbourne's tram service is nearby. The nearest tram stop to the Carlton Crest Hotel is on the corner of Commercial Road and St Kilda Road. From Melbourne City take tram numbers 3, 5, 16, 64, 67 and alight at the corner of Commercial and St Kilda Roads.

Passport/Visa Requirements
A valid passport or certificate of identification is required for entry into Australia. All persons not holding an Australian or New Zealand passport also require a visa. The Australian Visitor Visa may be obtained by mail or in person from the nearest Australian High Commission, Embassy or Consulate.

In some countries, travel agents can issue this visa. Travellers may be issued with either a visa in their passport or an electronic visa, depending on the country of origin and the passport/nationality of the traveller. It is the responsibility of the delegate to ensure that they hold the required documentation before arriving in Australia.
